The nine categories, and why you punt one
Most leagues score nine categories. You win a weekly matchup by taking more of them than your opponent, so a player's value is the sum of how much they help or hurt across all nine, not just how many points they score.
Value is a sum, and turnovers count against you
A high-usage guard who scores 28 a night can still be a net drain if the turnovers and a poor free-throw percentage bleed two categories.
