How each format works
Snake draft

How to win each one
Snake: draft in tiers, not by a strict list. Know where the cliffs are at each position so you take a scarce tier before it is gone and wait on a deep one. From an early slot, secure elite talent; from a late slot, use your back-to-back picks to pair value.
Auction: set a budget plan before you start, roughly what you will spend on your top two or three players versus the middle and the bench. Nominate players you do not want early to drain rival budgets, and pounce on the value that appears once the big spenders are tapped out. Never get stuck with unspent money and empty roster spots.

In a snake draft, managers pick in order, then the order reverses each round. If you draft third, you pick 3rd, then 10th in a 12-team league, then 15th, and so on. Your draft slot determines which players are realistically available to you.
